Grace for Falling (Sports) Stars?

At this point, the public spectacle that has become variously known as “The A-Rod Problem,” “the A-Rod situation,” “the A-Rod saga,” “the A-Rod circus,” and “the A-Rod mess,” among other less flattering designations, is ubiquitous. Jason Gay of the Wall Street Journal takes the temperature of the conversation: “A-Rod has been compared with villains (living and deceased), likened to a plague, condemned to an eternity of ignominy and loneliness, or worse, signing paraphernalia for $40 outside a casino [à la Pete Rose].
