Called to GO

Missions exist because worship doesn’t.

AIA Staff Kevin & Bre exhorted us to be ambassadors for Christ wherever God has us (e.g., school, sport) and sends us (e.g., career, family), going on God’s mission to bring more people to worship our loving Creator God who is the only one worthy of our complete worship. (2nd Corinthians 5:17-21)

Christians are a sent people, and as we go, we must make sure to…

  • Go in God’s pattern…Jesus was sent by Father-God, and now Jesus sends us

  • Go with God’s people…our faith is a team sport

  • Go with God’s presence and authority (Matthew 28:18-20)

  • Go with God’s power via His promised Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8, Ephesians 5:15-21)

  • Go in God’s provision…which includes the spiritual gifts He’s given us (Ephesians 4)

  • Go to God’s place…which is wherever you are because God is with you

  • Go with God’s purpose…bringing reconciliation as we have been reconciled

  • Go proclaim God’s Son…”Christ we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this (we) toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within (us).” (Colossians 1:28-29)

Questions to consider:

  • How does the greatness of God and the primacy of His worship change how you view living missionally?

  • What holds you back from living missionally?

  • How can you use your gifts and training where God is sending you (or where He has you now)?

Remember: we’re at war and need a war-time mentality with war-time armor (Ephesians 6:10-20)
